What is an OBD port?

On-board diagnostics (OBD) ports are used by technicians to identify and remedy malfunctions within your car. The OBD-II standard became a requirement for all cars manufactured after 1996 and is located inside the car, under the dash. It uses a digital communications standard to provide real-time data and power to attached devices, like the Car Adapter that’s an integral part of Pearl RearVision.

So, if your car is 1996 or newer, you have an OBD-II port that will work with the Car Adapter.
