The Camera Frame of RearVision lives on the back of your car, so we’ve designed it to function in harsh conditions. It’s splash- and water-resistant, but fully submerging it in water could cause damage or impair its functionality.
Is RearVision waterproof?
Pearl RearVision is water-resistant, but not waterproof. This does NOT mean you have to remove the product if it’s raining or snowing heavily, but does mean that the product should not be fully submerged in water.
Can I use it at a carwash?
Yes! Pearl RearVision has been tested under these conditions. You don’t need to remove it if you’re going to run your car through a carwash.
What happens to RearVision if it’s exposed to extreme heat or cold?
RearVision (including the Car Adapter and Phone Mount) can be damaged and become inoperable if your car is exposed to extreme heat (122°F or above) or cold (-22°F or below).
If outdoor temperatures are expected to exceed 122°F (50°C), you should remove your Car Adapter and Camera Frame, and place them where they can be stored in cooler temperatures.
Some video capabilities may not be available:
- In extreme weather
- In low or harsh lighting conditions, such as extremely bright sunlight, light beams that are directed or reflected onto one of the camera lenses
- When the HD cameras on the Camera Frame are obstructed, soiled or damaged
