What is the best way to clean RearVision?

Your RearVision will get dirty just like your car. Fortunately, we’ve designed it to withstand the elements.

If you’ve noticed blurry spots in your Pearl App view when using RearVision (particularly at night), or if the clarity of the video is otherwise impacted when backing up, you may need to clean the camera lenses on your Camera Frame.

To clean your Camera Frame:

  1. Dampen a soft cloth with water. Microfiber cleaning cloths are best. Don’t use cleaning products or wipes/materials that may wear away the protective coating or scratch the lenses.
  2. Gently wipe away any dust, dirt, or debris from each lens. Don’t rub too aggressively -- we want you to avoid scratching the hydrophobic (waterproof) coating on the lenses.
Note: While you’re there, you should probably clean the rest of the Camera Frame, including the lower part of the frame. That’s where the solar array is located, and an excess of dirt or mud could impact the charging performance of the Camera Frame.
  3. Dry the lenses off with a clean, soft, and dry cloth. (Again, a microfiber cloth is best.)

Note: It’s ok to leave your RearVision on your car when it’s going through a carwash.
